Commonwealth Bank
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia was established by the government in 1911. It is listed as a major financial establishment in the country. Its first branch was founded in Melbourne in 1912 and has continued growing ever since until it became the second largest bank in Australia. Commonwealth Bank is listed in the Australian Stock Exchange since 1991 and has various established branches all over the country. It has reached international status, with ATM machines available in many countries around the world. Commonwealth Bank has received various awards and citations including "Bank of the Decade", "Best Life Insurance Product", and "Product Innovator of the Year". The bank is also involved in the community by offering sponsorship programs to many development activities.
There are four business divisions involved with Commonwealth Bank Accounts. The first one is the Retail Banking Services that supports personal and small businesses. There is the Premium Business Services that answers to the needs of corporate and large business accounts. Another division is called Wealth Management and it has many services and policies like CommInsure, Colonial Insurance, and Commonwealth Investment Management. The final business division is called the International Financial Services and it handles transactions involved in countries where the Commonwealth Bank is also situated.
